Gilt Groupe is seeking a Director of Research whose charge is to develop research instruments and programs that produce sound consumer insights to drive business strategy. This person will lead a team that will be the central sources of knowledge of our customers and consumer targets.
Responsibilties:
Manage all relationships with outside research vendors
Manage all primary and syndicated research programs
Develop multiple diagnostic tools to uncover key consumer insights including but not limited to; qualitative, quantitative, usability, ethnography, shop-along, panel development, etc.
Drive an annual research plan and budget
Support all new business launches by uncovering key insights for new target markets
Be the voice of the consumer in business strategy development
Produce clear, precise recommendations for business strategy based on insights
Develop strong relationships with key internal partners
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline such as Marketing, Marketing research, Psychology, Anthropology, or Sociology
Minimum 5-7 years experience in direct consumer research
Experience with both qualitative and quantitative research techniques
Solid experience with syndicated data and analysis, using data to make actionable business decisions and recommendations
Retail/fashion experience a plus
Experience in an ecommerce environment
