IconStaff/Waltham, MAOur online media client's team is responsible for the software and hardware infrastructure, tools, and processes that support the development, testing, and deployment of their code. Candidates for this position must be well rounded from a management and technology perspective, having proven success in managing engineers through multiple releases of a successful products, as well as having current, hands on technology skills - candidates are required to go through a technical screen that will test scripting, command line, sysadmin, and database skills. Candidates will have proven success in fast paced environments (consumer facing preferred) where code releases are measured in days/weeks, not months/years. Design, coding, and testing is done directly by the engineers on this team. They operate in an open source environment, and handle millions of visitors a day.
Technologies:

- Scripting (shell, PHP, Ruby, Python, Perl)
- Database (Postgres, MySQL)
- Tools (Custom, SVN, Bugzilla, Eclipse)
Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of technical expertise including recent experience with high-performance consumer facing websites.
- Strong people management skills, with at least 2 years of managing technical teams.
- An in-depth and hands on knowledge of Linux and related open source technologies.
- Demonstrated success working in and promoting a rapidly changing, collaborative, and iterative product development environment.
- A history of success in hiring, retaining, leading, motivating, and mentoring top-tier technical talent.
- Proven success at an internet startup or early stage company.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate cross- functionally.
- Ability to serve as the focal point for other departments on project status and information.
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree.
Salary Range: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 / $0.00/hr - $0.00/hr
