SENIOR PHP APPLICATION DEVELOPER
Fluid, Inc. is looking for an experienced PHP developer for a contract position starting in early February to help build an enterprise web-based software system with Joomla! and other technologies. This is a remote position and could become a contract-to-hire opportunity. The position calls for a reliable and punctual developer, with strong written and verbal communication skills. The initial contract will be for 3 months, with a likely extension after that.
Required skills for this position are:
- Advanced PHP 5 skills
- Experience with Joomla! and/or Symfony
- Strong understanding of OOP and MVC
- Familiar with web application security
- Understanding of semantic HTML and CSS
Additional useful skills include:
- Expertise with JavaScript, especially jQuery
- Experience working with open source projects and communities
- Comfortable with Linux, SSH and the command line environment
- Apache httpd web server
- Experience with building or implementing ReSTful web services
- SQL skills and MySQL experience
- Experience with version control, particularly Subversion
Bonus points if you are familiar with:
- Java
- Alfresco Document Management
