Responsibilities:
Consultant – Workforce Development is responsible for technical production, implementation, administration and overall project management of highly complex, large-scale online learning 2.0 technology solutions for Verizon Wireless. This position can be based out of any major Verizon Wireless location.
Production and Integration
- Implements large-scale, highly complex learning technologies and simulations, with a concentration in providing just in time information, expanding knowledge sharing and mobile learning production
- Develops and implements educational material on new technologies from concept through final production on time and under aggressive deadlines; performs project planning, assembles the production resources, handles technical tasks and establishes schedules for individual projects
- Responsible for the implementation of new delivery platforms for video and podcasting, m-learning, 3D Simulations and other open source software
- Participates in feasibility studies to determine the appropriateness of implementing new e-learning technologies and initiatives such as mobile learning, streaming media (audio/video) and new delivery modalities that include PDA’s, handset devices and desktops for the corporation
- Partners with Workforce Development Curriculum Developers to help drive the usage and adoption of new learning technologies
- Responsible for authoring training documentation and communication for the learning organization on the use of corporate learning software standards.
- Successfully completes all projects in accordance with departmental performance agreement goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of all production aspects of multimedia computer-based training, from selecting the appropriate modality to courseware design and overall design and programming of highly complex animations and simulations
- 2 – 4 years programming experience in Action Script, JavaScript, XML; Possess a comprehension of XML programming and learning content management systems for the purpose of courseware design and development for delivery for multiple outputs
- 2 – 4 years programming experience in PHP and MySQL in a Linux/Apache environment for the purpose of creating dynamic/interactive websites and modifying open source code to meet business needs
- Demonstrated technical and analytical skills, including the ability to understand and convey complex technical information
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of streaming media and optimizing video for web delivery
- Technical skills require familiarity with advance PDA devices and open source software knowledge
- Excellent knowledge of computer operations and/or networking (e.g., LAN/WAN)
- PC and desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, e-mail, etc.) competency
- Ability to handle multiple projects to superior quality delivery
- Good organizational and problem solving
- Good verbal and written communications
- Good interpersonal skills
- Strong project management skills
- B.S./B.A. degree or equivalent experience in a field supporting Learning Technology: e.g., Workforce Development, Training & Development, Business Administration, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
- 3 – 5 years of technological applications experience.
