You know the browser inside and out – the intracacies of Javascript and CSS, performance implications, browser differences and the challenges of debugging in a real-world environment. You may not have gone to RISD but you know how to make things look good. You’re comfortable with the idea of writing code that runs in other people’s pages. You know your way around the key libraries (Prototype, Scriptaculous, jQuery, etc) and you’re proficient with modern browser app development tools like Rails or GWT.

The kinds of people we hire:

Learning new tools doesn’t scare you. You know the difference between Open Source components that make your life easier and buzzword bingo. You drink the kool-aid on agile, pair / extreme programming but understand it’s not a religion.

You know that what gets measured gets managed. You believe in instrumentation and data-centric decision-making. You don’t just write the code, you build the systems to deploy it, to test it, to measure it.

You like to tackle big problems and blast through with hard work, open communication, and a sense of humor. You’re fun to work with and have no problems playing with others.

The Company:

VigLink is a small but growing team looking for highly talented, motivated, and visionary people who want to build something great, and profoundly change an established and lucrative market. We’re building a high-volume, low-margin system focused on revenue and performance and operating in real-time and at web-scale.

This is a true ground-floor startup backed by some people you’ve heard of. Well-backed startups with the ability to build something from the ground up don’t come along every day.

To apply, send:

  • A resume
  • Pointers to or description of code you’ve written, professionally, for fun, or for school.
  • (Optional) URLs for blog, twitter account, etc…
